Katie McGinn
With a Master’s in Education specializing in Special Education, Katie has dedicated her career to fostering literacy and supporting students. Starting her journey at the Lab School of Washington, Katie immersed herself in the science of reading and teaching reading to students with language-based learning disabilities. This formative experience laid the foundation for their deep understanding of effective literacy instruction for all learners.
In 2015, Katie relocated to Park City, where she began as a 6th-grade Language Arts teacher at Ecker Hill Middle School. Her passion for education and literacy soon led them to a pivotal role as the Literacy Specialist for the district. In this capacity, Katie collaborates with teachers to create dynamic learning environments that nurture and develop proficient readers.
Beyond their role as the Literacy Specialist, Katie oversees the Secondary Summer School program, where she witnesses firsthand the successes and needs of students across the district. This role allows her to continue engaging with students and celebrating their achievements, reinforcing their commitment to educational excellence and student growth.
Katie feels incredibly fortunate to have a career that blends supporting educators, shaping effective literacy practices, and directly contributing to student success.
