Arlena Gaynor

Arlena Gaynor currently works with Attuned Education Partners. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of Language, Literacy, and Social Studies for Dallas Independent School District. Before this role, she was a Director and a Manager of Reading Language Arts for Dallas ISD. Prior to joining Dallas ISD, she worked for the Literacy and Humanities department in DC Public Schools, where she managed creating, revising, and publishing their K–5 literacy curriculum. She began her career as a tutor and site coordinator for DC Reads and was an elementary school teacher in both public and charter schools in Washington, DC.

Arlena is a former fellow of The New Teacher Project and the Cambiar Catalyst Fellowship. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Georgetown University, an M.Ed. in Education Policy and Leadership from American University, and is currently working on her doctorate at Southern Methodist University.
