Elizabeth Pawlowski is the PK-12 STEM Director at Taunton Public Schools where she is responsible for developing teacher capacity and managing math and science curriculum implementation in the city of Taunton. This is Liz’s 21st year in Taunton, where she began as a biology teacher at Taunton High School (THS).

Liz became the science department chair in 2009 and then the district coordinator for science in 2016. While at THS she was also the director of a summer work and learning program for high school students and the director of an interdisciplinary summer enrichment program designed to temper the transition from middle to high school. During this time, she worked closely with local partners in industry and higher education to establish STEM mentoring and career exploration programs.

Most recently, Liz has worked with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and EdReports to identify systems to examine high quality instructional materials in science.

Liz has a background in neuroscience and, upon graduation from MIT, worked in biotech. She is married with two children and is currently completing her doctorate in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership.
