Jonathan Criswell

Jonathan Criswell is currently in his sixth year as Superintendent of the Milan Special School District. A graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and a Master of Arts in Education Administration, Mr. Criswell has sought to establish a firm culture of excellence and family for all academics, arts, and athletics programs in the district.

With an energized community, the Milan Special School District has recently been recognized by the Tennessee State Department of Education with the highest distinction possible in student academic growth, Level 5.  Milan Elementary School is currently serving as a model literacy implementation district for the state department as it produces teaching videos for other school districts across the state to model their classroom instruction. The Career Technical Education department and the Special Education department are repeatedly asked to present locally for other school districts as well as for state and national organizations on the successes students are currently experiencing through these departments. Milan tops off a world-class education with state-of-the-art arts and athletic facilities which allow students to produce Broadway-quality plays and multiple athletic championships in a variety of sports.

The pursuit of excellence never stops as Mr. Criswell leads the Milan Special School District further along in the steeped tradition of success for the school district.
