Kelly Smith

Dr. Kelly Smith serves as the Director of K-8 Curriculum for Florence Unified School District, a large rural school district located between Phoenix and Tucson, AZ enrolling 9,800 students. She oversees all core content curriculum, teacher induction, reading intervention,and gifted services.

Dr. Smith has 25 years of experience in education and has served as a principal, assistant principal, assessment coordinator, and academic coach. Her passion lies with coaching teachers in improving their craft through knowledge of curriculum and high leverage instructional practices. There is nothing quite like being in the classroom!

She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from West Texas A & M University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.In 2015, she earned her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Capella University.
