Michelle Hawley has served as a District Supervisor for Brandywine School District in Wilmington, Delaware since 2014. When she began her career in a middle school mathematics classroom in 2000, she was fortunate enough to be provided a quality curriculum and ongoing professional learning; this led to many additional career opportunities. After serving as a classroom teacher, Michelle also served in roles as Mathematics Instructional Coach, State Data Coach, Math Specialist and Assessment Item Writer and Reviewer. In her current role, she supervises mathematics, science and gifted education services for PK-12 students, and has planned two comprehensive curriculum adoptions in mathematics.

Michelle earned both her Bachelor’s and Masters’ degrees in Education from University of Delaware, and serves on the Executive Boards of the Delaware Math Coalition, Delaware Science Coalition, and Delaware Council for Mathematics Leaders. She also serves on the Delaware Mathematics Steering Committee.
